Vocabulary of a sexual relationship between a man and a woman.

The Israelite Bible does not distinguish between the status of a sexual relationship like living as 'boyfriend and girlfriend' or as 'husband and wife'.

The Israelite Bible speaks of 'taking a woman and possessing her'. The English language see the possession of a woman as 'marriage', which is misleading.

The English words 'wife' and 'husband' are misleading because they can lead us into adulterous relationships as we can make the case that we were not married when we lived together or were having sex as "boyfriend" and "girlfriend".

Whether married or living as boyfriend and girlfriend, another man cannot have sex with the woman of another man.

A man takes a woman to be with, to possess her, to become one flesh, in the eyes of Jesus (God). A man does not take a wife in the Bible.

If a woman leaves her man to whom she was not legally "married", in order to be or to "marry" another man who, unlike the previous inconsiderate man, is willing to put a ring in her finger to make it legal to the eyes of society,  Jesus says that the woman who left the other man to get married commits adultery, even with the with the false idea to legalize the relationship in the eyes of God Jesus. For, she left a generic man for another generic man.

"Matthew 5:31-32 ASV
(31)  It was said also, Whosoever shall put away his wife {woman], let him give her a writing of divorcement:
(32)  but I say unto you, that every one that putteth away his wife [woman], saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress [adultered]: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery."
